Exterior Painting of a House in Dublin, Goatstown
Painting
Completed: Aug 2025
We took on an exterior painting job for a house in need of serious help. The old paint was peeling everywhere. You could see big flakes hanging off the walls. Rain had got underneath in some spots. That is never good.
First, our guy scraped off every bit of loose paint. He used a stiff scraper and put some muscle into it. Then he sanded the rough edges smooth. That part was dusty but necessary.
After scraping came the treatment. He applied a special primer-sealer over the bare patches. This stops any leftover moisture from bubbling up later. It also helps the new paint stick like it should. He let that dry overnight.
The next day, he rolled on the first colour. It was a soft grey for the main walls. Two coats went on nice and even. Then came the tricky part. The trim and window frames needed a second colour, as well as the base of the house. He brushed that in by hand. Carefully. No sloppy lines between the two colours.
When he stepped back onto the street, the house looked brand new. No more peeling. No more bare wood showing through. Just clean, sharp paint in two colours that work well together. Not only does it look much better, but it also protects the house from future possible damage and thus increase the value of the property. The owner said it was the best the house had looked in twenty years.
