Ceiling Water Leak Repair in Dublin, Ballsbridge
Painting
Completed: Jun 2025
Back in May of 2025, one of my expert crew members at Make Ready Services handled a tricky ceiling repair. The job took place in a kitchen in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, where the entire ceiling had collapsed. The culprit was a leak from the kitchen upstairs. By the time we got the call, plasterboard was scattered all over the floor. Now this is something you won't see every day of the week.
My employee started by clearing out every piece of loose, water-damaged plasterboard. Safety always comes first, so he made sure the area was secure before moving on. Then he inspected the concrete ceiling above. It needed more support, so he added extra wooden timbers. That gave us a strong, reliable frame to attach the new ceiling to.
Next, he installed fresh plasterboard. He measured and cut each piece carefully, then screwed it firmly into the new timbers. Once the boards were up, he moved on to the finishing work. He filled every seam and every screw hole with joint compound, let it dry, and sanded everything smooth. That took a couple of rounds to get perfectly flat.
Finally, he painted the entire ceiling with two smooth coats. When he stepped back, the kitchen looked like nothing had ever happened. No bumps, no stains, no memory of that leak. Just a clean, bright ceiling that looks brand new. That's the kind of work Make Ready Services stands behind.
