Bathroom Enlargement and Renovation in Dublin, Cypress Down

We took on a big job in Cypress Downs, Dublin. An older couple needed to turn their small toilet into a wet room, suitable for wheelchair access. So we had to make space. A lot of space.

First, we knocked down the walls between two storage rooms and the old toilet. That opened everything up. Dust went everywhere. But now the room was big enough. Then we moved the toilet to a better spot. Easier to reach from a wheelchair. We also moved the heating radiator. It was in the way before.

The plumbing had to be completely redone. New pipes under the floor. New drains. Everything sloped just right, so water flows away. That part takes skill. No room for mistakes.

Next came the wet room sealing. We put down a special tanking membrane on the floor and up the walls. Waterproof. Solid. Safe. Then we tiled the whole floor and walls. Non-slip tiles.

Now the shower chair rolls right in. No step. No lip. Just a smooth, safe space. Easy access even for the elderly.
